Shaykh ʿAbd al-Muḥsin al-ʿAbbād
Shaykh ʿAbd al-Muḥsin ibn Ḥamd al-ʿAbbād al-Badr (born 1353 AH / 1934 CE) was born in al-Zulfī, north of Riyadh. He studied at the religious institute and the College of Sharīʿah in Riyadh, and joined the Islamic University of Madinah as a teacher from its founding in 1381 AH, later serving as its vice-president for six years.
He has taught in the Prophet’s Mosque since 1406 AH, and is especially known for his patient, verse-by-verse and hadith-by-hadith explanations — among them his lengthy commentary on the Sunan of Abū Dāwūd. He is admired for his gentle character, humility, and lifelong devotion to teaching the Sunnah.
